Dealing With Difficult People

Many times due to the force of habit we allow ourselves to indulge in anger or we think that anger is the way to protect ourselves or solve problems. Buddha tells us that there is nothing more destructive than anger, and it is by its very nature a painful state of mind. Come and discover meaningful ways to deal with difficult people and situations that provoke anger and its lesser but just as destructive cousins frustration and irritation.

Simple changes from our side allow us to be a positive influence on all the difficult people we encounter.

Breathing Meditation and the Practice of Taking and Giving in Greeley

Breathing Love, Breathing Joy

With Gen Kelsang Rinzin

Saturday, June 2nd at 10:30am

In Kadampa Buddhism, breathing meditation is a foundation practice through which we learn to improve our mindfulness and concentration and develop a peaceful mind. On this basis we can graduate to other practices through which we can begin to actualize the extraordinary capacities for love, joy and wisdom that exist within the human heart… and in this way really make the most of our life. In particular the ingenious practice known as taking and giving allows to develop all these qualities simultaneously.

In this class Gen Rinzin will explain these powerful practices and show how we can integrate taking and giving with a simple breathing meditation. This practice, known as mounting taking and giving upon the breath gives us a very effective method for experiencing joyful and loving minds throughout our daily life and to make great progress in our spiritual training quickly.

Everyone is welcome.
