Who we are
The people who come to Heruka Buddhist Center are women, men, and children, Buddhist, agnostic, Christian, Jewish, and any other faith (we don't ask), college and high school students, middle-aged, and retired. A few are ordained, most are lay people with jobs and families.
Why we come
Some come because they want to follow the Buddhist path to enlightenment; others are learning to meditate. Some love the philosophy; some want to do retreats.
Some people love the peacefulness of our meditation room, with the beautiful Buddhas; and some want to participate in faithful practices such as making water offerings on our shrine. Some want to take Refuge vows or Bodhisattva vows, and others simply enjoy being guided in meditation.
Who is welcome
Everyone! This week would be a great time to check us out.
