You are your own protector,
You are your own enemy.
-- Shakyamuni Buddha
Others can only hurt us if our mind is untrained. As children we learn, "Sticks and stones...but names will never hurt me," but somehow we don't learn it well enough. For example, we might hear words that last a few seconds, but then allow them to rankle and disturb us for days. This is being our own enemy.
Through training our mind with mindfulness and alertness, we can change this. We can get control of our mind and become our own protector.
In this workshop, Gen Rinzin will explain how we can guide ourselves and protect ourselves with simple, gentle, mind-training techniques. Everyone welcome!
