These classes include teaching, guided meditation, prayers and discussion. They are open to everyone. It is recommended to get the book.

How to Understand the Mind

Tuesdays at 7:00 to 9:00pm
Update: January 23, 2018 we will begin the section on meditation.

This new book by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso offers us deep insight into our mind and how it works. It is a practical guide to developing a light, positive attitude – showing how to recognize and abandon states of mind that harm us, and to cultivate peaceful, positive states of mind that bring us happiness.

In this course, you will learn how to replace negative states mind with beneficial ones. You’ll gain insight into the different types of mind and develop a deep understanding of meditation, bringing all you’ve learned about the mind into your practice. You’ll be able to use the insight you gain from the course to be happier, and to improve your life and the lives of others.

When: Class meets once a week, Tuesdays at 7:00pm
Cost: Choose either
- $12/class ($8 seniors/students)
- $60/month makes you a Supporting Member. For that cost, you get access to all the Tuesday night classes, as well as free access to all drop-in meditation classes, free access to many retreats at the center, and 1/2 price on all other events at Heruka Center.
Recordings: Recordings of the Tuesday night classes are available for the classes which you attend. These are $4 per class, but free for Supporting Members.
