How to Purify Karma

Purifying our karma is one of the most beneficial activities. We all want to be happy and free from problems, but negativity in our mind attracts sickness and problems like a magnet attracts iron filings. There are four aspects (so-called "powers") of purification, which we will learn this evening.

If we do strong purification every day, we can completely purify all our negative karma. If we do a middling amount of purification practice, we can reduce our negativity. If we do even a little bit of purification, we can stop our negative karma from growing.

Through purifying our negativity our mind will gradually become happier, our good qualities will increase, and all our mental and physical problems will gradually disappear.

“Attaining Enlightenment is very simple. All we need to do is purify our mind.” – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

The Power of Mantra

‘Mantra’ means ‘mind protection’; mantras are special, sacred sounds that embody wisdom and compassion. They lead to a pure heart, and reciting them is a very special technique for achieving a blessed and joyful mind.
